Happy New Year BRIGGade!!
I hope you all had a great time celebrating 2019’s arrival. I know I did. Church let out around 10 this year, so we were able to drop off our tiny human and hit the town.
Anyway! So now we’re finally in 2019! This year I didn’t make any resolutions just made the decision to continue working on being the best ME I can be.
I asked myself, “Self, what can I do to be better?”
After a few minutes I realized that I could just continue to build on the things I focused on in 2018.
Things such as: Self-Care, being healthy, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
I wanted my focus to be equally spread on all of these things so I mapped out a plan. I knew that this was the year where I would push the limits but first I needed to get fit.
For the most part I’ve been fit all my life, minus the past year and half. Two years ago when I had my daughter, I kinda fell off. Breastfeeding helped keep the weight down, then I had a personal trainer for a bit. Then I got comfortable and working out became far and few in between.
Now here I am 30lbs heavier like:
I mean realistically I knew I’d put on a little weight but I really didn’t realize it until we took engagement photos and I didn’t recognize myself. I mean your girl is thick now lol
Beyoncé thick duh.
Lol except ya girl just isn’t as fit. This year I thought about it and I know I had to do something different. Going to the gym is cool but I’m not as motivated as I used to be back in my younger days.
So I came across an ad for kickboxing. And thought to myself. This could be fun. So that’s what I decided to do. I joined I Love Kickboxing.
So far I love it. Although I’m only a week in I know that this is going to be fun.
I love that it’s a class structure. I usually do better with an instructor to keep me going and it doesn’t hurt that they play good music.
I look forward to sharing my fitness journey with you guys. I’ll check back in to let y’all know how kickboxing is going in February. Hopefully I’ll be able to show a picture of my progress by then.
This is gonna be a long road but I will be snatched for my 30th birthday and most definitely for this wedding.
Walking around like
As far as my mental, emotional, and spiritual journey of self-care I’ll share some of that next time.
Anywho. I’m working on some Briggs Life Merch for y’all! I’m excited! Slowly but surely things will come together. Just wait on it. If you don’t already, don’t forget to join the Facebook and IG page @TheBriggsLife to stay in the loop. Send all questions, requests and concerns to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Y’all enjoy the weekend and be safe in these streets.
